Thomas Peter Diamond

Thomas Peter Diamond is a realistic oil painter with a love for painting large landscapes with big skies, flowers, trees, people and animals. He lives on Chicago’s north shore, and often paints scenes from nearby forest preserves, meadows, and flower gardens. Often his large canvases and subjects immerse the viewer within the scene, the full effect only achievable when standing in person in front of the painting.

Thomas has a deep appreciation for art history, with influences including Durer, Rembrandt, Hals, Vermeer, Caravaggio, Velazquez, Ingres, Courbet, Monet, Bierstadt, and many more. Painting and drawing has been a life-long passion for Thomas, with the lofty goal of creating works that will still be appreciated by future generations. He is also a skilled classical pianist.

His business career has also been creative. From 2010 to 2020 founder and CEO of the innovative satellite-imagery data company RS Metrics. Thomas (Tom) invented and pioneered large-scale quantitative analysis of satellite imagery for business and investors, such as measuring car traffic at retail chains like Target and Walmart to predict revenues and stock price. He has been featured on CNBC, CNN, ABC News, WSJ, NYT, FT, Economist, NY Post, The Atlantic, Crain’s, Wired, and more, and even the Showtime series “Billions.”
