Lola de Miguel

Lola de Miguel was born and raised in a traditional Spanish family. Her dynamic spirit and eagerness to learn and grow made her leave the enchanting green scenery of the Pyrenees and go explore the multicultural world.

As a youth, she was offered scholarships to study art in the United States, but due to family pressure, she set aside her passion for creative expression and became a lawyer. A successful international corporate career followed.

Despite professional achievements, her journey towards self-discovery continued. The journey took her to live in six different countries and pursue several career changes.

She found the answer to her lifelong quest when she came to New York. Inspired by the thriving art scene, she decided to take the leap and pursue art. She joined the Art Students League (ASL) and her mentors Ronnie Landfield, James Little, Larry Poons and Bruce Dorfman encouraged this path and cultivated her talent.

Since then, she has not looked back. She has had numerous group exhibits, has won the Leonard Rosenfeld Scholarship 2019, she has completed her 4 four-years Certificate program in Fine Art Painting at the Arts Students League of New York, and has had great success in her eight solo shows in Manhattan : “ African Memories”, “Underwater Emotions”, “NYC inspires”, “Mother Earth Love”, “Amazonian”, “Galaxies”, “Floating Colors” . Her next solo show Essence, the ninth one, is coming up very soon beginning of December in Soho Lola is an enthusiastic ARTIST and a motivational coach. In both arenas, Lola inspires through her energy, courage, passion and colorful way of approaching life.

HOW

Lola uses mainly acrylic on canvas. She is very spirited and energetic and likes the fast decision process acrylic paint offers her.
While her art themes have ranged, what all her paintings have in common is that they are powerful and vibrantly colored. She channels her fierce intelligence; soaring, spiraling personal energy; and commitment to holistic connectivity in her mastery of color and emotion on canvas.

Lola is not afraid to set a mark or totally change style. For Lola, art is freedom, and it is an expression of her constant evolution as a human being. Her imagination and creativity has led her to explore other mediums, including sculpture, drawing, mixed media, and recycling materials. Her art evolves like she does but emanates her signature style of complex color, action, and expressionism.
